January-Sick

A four panel comic: in panel one, a faery says "what's this? Month end, already" to a sick artist cuddling their cats, who responds "bleeeeh—january's been hard", and the faery fires back "so?"; in panel two, the faery stares and "hmmmmmmmm"s; in panel three, the artist sniffs twice: in the final panel, the faery says "fine" and the artist responds "thanks".

The month has felt long.

I'm cutting close to the wire with this month's update, and I've a host of excuses I could point to: two weeks of sickness, the turnover of a handful of projects, classes starting, the usual periodic need for rest, and still being unused to this routine. I got invited to a new project, I got a rejection from another. Whatever time I thought I had, slipped away. But, I'm here now \o/

It's not all gloom and procrastination. I managed to buy paper for the Unnamed Wish Project, mailed out all the rewards for BLINK, and finished writing Jazzledom. And tomorrow is HOURLY COMICS DAY, which I'm going to attempt to partake in; expect to see some of that on social media.

Comics I Read Recently

Cowgirls & Dinosaurs: Big Trouble in Little Spittle by Lucie Ebrey.

Kickstarter Launch: OMNIBUS

A banner for a kickstarter project, OMNIBUS: a personal anthology. Features a clownish bus moderately full of colourful characters, underneath the title "OMNIBUS".

Here we are again with another Kickstarter, this time with a collection of short-comics that I have produced over the years. Some of them stem from my college days, some of them have never seen a printing press, and some of them will be experiencing full-colour for the first time. Most of them can be read on my website, and the few that aren't already there I shall be working towards getting posted in some shape or form leading up to project launch. I used to have a short Anthology of the works I produced coming out of the Comics and Graphic Novels Program at Camosun College, but I sold out of them years ago. I'm still waffling on whether or not to include all those extremely early works, from a time when I was still figuring out how to rule borders and keep my letters neat. Maybe in a stretch.

The Goal?

An Omnibus of my works—not including Faercrow or BLINK—to be able to share and bring to conventions and other events. Approximately 80 pages of comics from my formative years learning the medium. I'd like to print at least 75 volumes, enough to send comics to anyone who would like to purchase a physical copy during the campaign with a stockpile for later. More would be cool, but that depends on interest.

As such, I'm aiming to reach at least FIFTY FOLLOWERS leading up to the Launch Date.

Click here to follow the prelaunch page for my OMNIBUS.

Launch Date: 20 April 2025

There will be an EARLY BIRD discount, so follow to be notified immediately upon launch.

In Conclusion...

Thank you for being here, for following and sharing. It's been an exhausting start to the new year—but I expect February to bloom towards something more energizing.
